THERE IS NOT ANY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES STORED IN THE ECM. PERFORM ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SELF TEST WITH SCAN TOOL . SYSTEM PASSED THIS INDICATES THERE IS NO PROBLEM IDENTIFIED BY THE ECM. THE DESIRED IDLE SPEED AND ACTUAL IDLE SPEED ARE THE SAME . THE IDLE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM IS WORKING NORMALLY. THE IDLE SPEED IS NOT LOWER WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING ON THAN IT IS WITH IT OFF . THE AC COMPRESSOR IS ENGAGING AND IT IS PUTTING EXTRA STRAIN ON THE ENGINE , BUT THIS IS NORMAL . THE ENGINE IS SHAKING MORE AND THE ENGINE MOUNTS ARE WORN ALLOWING THE VIBRATION TO BE FELT , BUT THE ENGINE SHOULD NOT STALL .

PERFORM STARTING AND CHARGING SYSTEM TESTS . THE BATTERY , THE STARTER AND THE ALTERNATOR ARE ALL WORKING CORRECTLY . VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT DRIVEN OFTEN ENOUGH WILL HAVE BATTERY DRAIN ISSUES THE ONLY CHOICE OTHER THAN REGULAR DRIVING IS TO PUT A BATTERY MAINTAINER IN THE VEHICLE , BUT IT WILL NEED TO BE PLUGGED IN TO A HOUSEHOLD ELECTRICAL SOCKET IN ORDER TO WORK .
