    • DTC P0014 VARIABLE VALVE TIMING OVER ADVANCED BANK 1. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION OF VVT SOLENOID WIRING AND CONNECTOR . NO OBVIOUS ISSUE COULD BE SEE. THE DIAGNOSTIC FLOW CHART INSTRUCTS THAT THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL AND CONDITION BE CHECKED AS THE NEXT STEP /. THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL WAS LOW AND THE CONDITION WAS DIRTY. THE OIL WAS DRAINED INTO A CONTAINER AND MEASURED . THERE WAS ABOUT 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL IN THE ENGINE . THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING SYSTEM RELIES ON OIL PRESSURE AND FLOW TO OPERATE CORRECTLY . THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER NEED TO BE CHANGED AT AN INTERVAL OF 5K MILES AND NOT MUCH MORE . THE OIL LEVEL ALSO NEEDS TO BE CHECKED REGULARLY. THE HYUNDAI 2.4 LITER ENGINES ARE KNOW FOR OIL CONSUMPTION .
