- A JUMPER FUSE WAS INSTALLED TO PERFORM TESTING . THE VEHICLE NOW STARTED ,BUT THE POWER FEED WIRE FROM THE BATTERY TO THE FUSE PANEL GOT EXTREMELY HOT . PRINT WIRING DIAGRAM AND PERFORM CIRCUIT TEST ON POWER FEED . THE FEED WIRE GOES DIRECTLY TO THE 120 AMP FUSE . THE FUSE IS POWERING THE ALTERNATOR . THE MAIN POWER WIRE FOR THE ALTERNATOR WAS REMOVED FROM THE POWER LUG AND THE WIRE NO LONGER GOT HOT . THE ALTERNATOR HAS AN INTERNAL SHORT . THE MAIN POWER FEED OFF OF THE BATTERY HAS ALREADY BEEN PREVIOUSLY CUT AND TAPED TOGETHER . THIS IS NOT A PROPER REPAIR . AT THE VERY LEAST THIS VEHICLE WILL NEED A 120 AMP FUSE INSTALLED INTO THE FUSE BOX , AN ALTERNATOR AND THE POWER FEED REPAIRED . THEN IT CAN BE ALLOWED TO RUN TO SEE IF ANY OTHER ISSUES WERE CAUSED BY THE SHORTED OUT ALTERNATOR . THE CIRCUIT WAS HOT ENOUGH THAT THERE COULD BE DAMAGE TO OTHER WIRES OR COMPONENTS.
